Every car wash follows a strictly defined procedure. 10 stages in a strict order — each one prepares the surface for the next. This minimises the risk of scratches and gives the maximum final result.
Hot paint reacts unpredictably with washing chemicals, so we start by cooling the surface with a stream of water.
This is critically important especially when the car body can heat up to 60–70°C.
We cover the whole car with a thick layer of active foam, which softens and dissolves the dirt without mechanical contact with the paint.
The foam works for a few minutes, effectively dissolving road grime, dust and insect residue. This is the most important stage of the pre-wash: the more dirt the foam removes, the safer the rest of the care will be.
Emblems, air intake grilles, seals and glass joints are places no ordinary car wash can reach.
We use soft detailing brushes to gently rinse the accumulated dirt out of every, even the smallest, nook.
Dust from the brake pads collects on the wheels, and it affects the coating extremely aggressively.
For thorough cleaning of the wheel spokes, their inner parts and the wheel arches we use specialist products, acid-resistant materials and brushes.
The basis and the heart of the whole procedure. One bucket holds a neutral-pH shampoo solution, the other clean water for rinsing the wash mitt.
Each bucket has a grit guard (sieve) at the bottom that traps the dirt. A soft microfibre mitt gently picks up the remaining dirt, then it is rinsed in water and dipped in the shampoo again. This guarantees that sand does not return to the body. We wash strictly from top to bottom, and for the dirtiest lower parts we use a separate mitt.
After the main wash, contaminants remain on the paint that shampoo cannot remove: road bitumen, asphalt deposits, tree resin and insect residue.
We use specialist chemistry that dissolves these substances without scrubbing, which rules out any risk of scratching the surface. After this stage the paint is smooth to the touch.
Sharp metal particles from brake pads settle on the body and embed themselves in the paint.
They are invisible to the naked eye but can be felt by touch. A special product reacts with the iron particles, turning bright purple (the so-called “bleeding effect”). After rinsing off the products, the paint is cleaned of metallic deposits.
Ordinary tap water contains calcium and magnesium, which leave white spots (limescale) when they dry.
For the final rinse we use water purified by reverse osmosis: it is free of minerals and dries without leaving any traces.
Instead of rubbing the water off with a towel (which always carries a risk of micro-scratches), we use a powerful turbo dryer with warm air.
It blows the water out of gaps, mirrors, seals and other hard-to-reach places. Remaining moisture is collected with an ultra-soft waffle towel by dabbing, without scrubbing.
Door recesses, the boot edge and the pillars are where dust, sand and moisture gather intensively.
We clean them by hand, so the car looks perfect from outside and when the doors are open.
Kraków is a beautiful city, but the conditions for a car’s paint are exceptionally demanding here, which makes regular detailing care not a luxury but a real necessity. For years the city has been struggling with smog, and fine soot particles settle on the body, forming an aggressive layer that over time damages the clear coat.
In winter, from mid-October to mid-April, the streets are salted, and the salt collects on the lower part of the body, in the wheel arches and under the underbody, causing corrosion. We also wash in winter, in a warm bay, and before handover we blow the car dry so that locks and seals don’t freeze. The local water also complicates matters — one of the hardest in Poland: its calcium and magnesium content leaves limescale deposits when it dries, which get into the paint and need polishing (that is exactly why we use only demineralised water for the final rinse). In addition, heavy city traffic and frequent braking coat the car with metallic dust from the brake pads, which is removed in the iron-removal process, and city rain leaves dirty streaks and spots. If the paint has already been damaged by limescale or aggressive deposits, professional paint correction will help restore its original depth of colour.
