If you are looking for reliable protection for your car in Krakow, at Kraken Detailing studio we offer three proven technologies: ceramic, graphene, and elastomer coatings. Each of these options guarantees long-lasting protection, a mirror-like shine, and a hydrophobic effect, but they differ in performance properties, durability, and visual effect.Krakow sets higher demands for car care, as smog and polluted air settle on the bodywork, creating an aggressive, acidic layer. A professional protective coating from Kraken Detailing creates a barrier against all these negative factors. It ensures that the paint retains its factory look for many years, making daily car care much simpler. Below, we present the three technologies we use in our detailing studio in Krakow.
All protective coatings at Kraken Detailing undergo a rigorous, five-step process that guarantees a flawless result unreachable by mobile parking-lot services. Depending on the condition of the paint and the selected material, the full cycle of work takes from 2 to 5 business days.
Consultation and Valuation
We conduct a meeting in the studio to assess the condition of the paintwork under special LED lighting and using a paint thickness gauge. We discuss your expectations and select the optimal coating without any rush.
Washing and Decontamination
We perform a thorough, two-stage wash that includes pre-wash and contact procedures, followed by chemical decontamination to remove iron deposits and tar. We also perform mechanical cleaning using a detailing clay bar to fully prepare the surface for further work.
Paint Correction
Using machine polishing, we remove micro-scratches, holograms, and traces of previous polishings, executing a one-, two-, or three-stage correction depending on the condition of the paint. Every panel undergoes verification under light projectors to achieve a perfect surface.
Coating Application
The material is applied panel by panel under controlled temperature and humidity conditions. Each layer requires a strictly defined time to ensure high-quality bonding with the paint, which is why this stage can take anywhere from a few hours to a full working day.
Curing and Handover
The car undergoes 24 to 72 hours of curing in a closed room with a controlled humidity level. Afterward, we perform a final quality inspection under projectors, hand the car over to the owner, and provide care instructions along with a warranty card.

This is one of the most popular questions in our studio. The answer is simple: protective coatings and films are two completely different methods of protection that do not compete with each other, but rather complement one another, as they are designed to neutralize different threats.Ceramic, graphene, or elastomer coatings provide chemical protection for the paint layer against ultraviolet radiation, acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap, road salt, and water spots. They give the bodywork a deep, mirror-like shine, feature strong hydrophobic properties, and make car maintenance easier. However, they are unable to protect against rock chips, deep scratches, or other severe mechanical damage — this is physically impossible given the layer thickness of just a few microns.Protective Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a thick, transparent layer that physically absorbs impacts from stones, sand, and small debris. It is essential for the most vulnerable areas of the car: hood, bumper, fenders, mirrors, and door sills. If you frequently drive on highways or gravel roads, PPF is simply a must-have.It is important to remember that standard coatings do not protect against stone impacts — that task belongs exclusively to PPF. The best solution is a combined approach: applying protective PPF film to high-risk zones and a ceramic coating over the entire bodywork (including the film itself). This provides comprehensive protection, combining chemical resistance with a reliable mechanical barrier.

The price depends on the selected product, the number of layers, and the size of the vehicle. Ceramic coating prices start from PLN 800 (1-year protection), PLN 1,500 (3-year protection), and PLN 2,500 (5-year protection). Graphene coatings start from PLN 2,000, elastomer coatings from PLN 3,000, and rim or glass protection from PLN 400. The price includes bodywork decontamination, while paint correction is charged separately; an exact quote is provided after inspecting the car.
A ceramic coating increases paint hardness up to 9H on the pencil scale, making it more resistant to fine, everyday micro-scratches. However, it does not provide mechanical protection against rock chips or deep damage. For complete protection, we recommend combining a ceramic coating over the entire bodywork with protective PPF film on the most vulnerable components, such as the front end of the vehicle.
The choice depends on your priorities:Ceramic is a classic choice with 9H hardness, a glossy finish, and chemical resistance.Graphene coating features antistatic properties and prevents water spot formation better—which is essential given Krakow's hard water.Elastomer coating is a premium option offering the maximum layer thickness, self-healing properties, and a deep "wet look" shine. We help you select the best option during a consultation.
Ceramic is a time-tested technology offering 9H hardness. Graphene is a modern technology that repels dust better (antistatic properties), provides higher resistance to water spots, and boasts a longer lifespan. In Krakow, graphene might be a better choice due to the hard water issue, but for enthusiasts of maximum hardness and a classic mirror shine, we recommend ceramics.
No, these are two different types of protection. A coating protects against chemical factors (UV rays, salt, dirt), whereas PPF film provides mechanical protection against stones, chips, and scratches. The ultimate solution is combining both methods: film applied to the front of the vehicle + ceramic coating across the entire bodywork.
The car requires simpler maintenance: wash it by hand or at a touchless car wash (avoid brushes) using a pH-neutral shampoo. Bird droppings or tree sap should be removed as quickly as possible. Once every 6–12 months, a hydrophobic booster is applied—at Kraken Detailing, we do this free of charge during the annual inspection. Washing the car is strictly forbidden for the first 7 days after application.
This is the ideal moment for protection, as the paint is in pristine condition and only requires the removal of factory wax. This makes the process faster and more economical. Many clients bring their cars straight from the showroom to preserve their factory appearance to the fullest.
